About the Role

The Head of AI and Machine Learning leads the charge in AI and ML initiatives, ensuring they align with the organization's broader goals. Their expertise is vital in driving technological innovation and applying cutting-edge AI and ML solutions to solve complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

    Develop and oversee the implementation of AI governance frameworks that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    Collaborate with cross
    functional teams, including data scientists, legal, compliance, and risk management, to ensure AI solutions are developed responsibly.
    Establish clear guidelines for ethical AI use, including transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI decision
    making processes.
    Monitor the AI landscape for emerging risks, legal developments, and technological advancements that may impact governance strategies.
    Lead the assessment and mitigation of risks associated with AI, including bias, privacy breaches, and security vulnerabilities.
    Facilitate AI literacy and awareness across the organization to ensure stakeholders understand the implications and potential of AI technologies.
    Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, industry groups, and civil society organizations, to shape and inform AI governance practices.
    Ensure that AI projects are aligned with the organization's strategic objectives and deliver measurable business value.
    Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement in AI governance, staying abreast of best practices and encouraging innovation within the team.
    Report to senior management and the board on AI governance matters, providing insights and recommendations for decision
    making.

Required Skills

    Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Law, or a related field.
    Strong understanding of AI and machine learning technologies, methodologies, and tools.
    Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in AI, including data privacy laws and ethical frameworks.
    Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex AI concepts to non
    technical audiences.
    Strategic thinking and problem
    solving abilities, with a focus on risk management and compliance.
    Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks and policies.
    Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in AI governance.
    Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
